WHO WE ARE:
MummyMustHave is an independent online maternity, mother and baby boutique with beautiful, innovative designs by founder Monic Joint.
Monic Joint-Why she created MummyMustHave:
After a long battle with colic soon after the birth of her second child, Monic needed to develop a 'comfort plan' for her child when neither over the counter nor prescription medications worked to soothe her baby's painful colicky reflux. She discovered that both swaddling your baby as well as bathing them with warm water could help soothe colic but found that neither traditional swaddles or baby bath towels would stay on a kicking, crying baby. It was then that she decided to design and manufacture not only for herself but for all parents a swaddle and baby bath towel that would be resistant to being kicked off by infants. She was able to achieve these two design goals with the added bonus of making them 'one-size-fits-all' for babies, as she did not want to burden parents with having to buy more than one size for the age-level of the garments. Therefore her designs are unique inventions, great value-for-money and best of all they help babies to cry less and feel cosier, essential qualities in garments designed for making mums and babies lives easier and more comfortable.
WHAT WE WANT TO GIVE MUMS AND BABIES:
We aim to be a friendly, reliable provider of unique, value for money 'get started' clothing or capsule ensemble for soon-to-be/new mums and their babies.
Babies: We are proud that our designs have been specially created to grow with your baby; we did not want our baby wear collection to come in multiple sizes, making our products excellent value for money, and we do hope that you enjoy using them on all your babies.
Mums: With our products for mums and mums-to-be, we wanted our designs to be useful, especially for helping mums to breastfeed longer or more easily. Our maternity bands or 'Bump HuggersTM' are something we were especially pleased to be able to offer as we understand that there are many reasons why some women do not turn to traditional maternity wear, whether that is because they want to keep their own unique style and wear their current clothing throughout their pregnancy or simply because they offer better value for money than the huge initial costs of purchasing new maternity garments.
WHERE OUR PRODUCTS ARE MANUFACTURED:
We make and manufacture our products in the United Kingdom. This costs us considerably more, reducing our prodits, but MummyMustHave is committed to supporting British workers and industries. Manufacturing in the United Kingdom also ensures that workers are paid fairly and work in environments with European-standard levels of employment conditions.
MMH and Monic Joint-Working to improve the resources of new and existing families in the U.K.
Monic Joint has been raising awareness of the importance of post-birth family resources for all families within the U.K. with a positive parenting portal e-petition to 10 Downing Street. 'During our time as parents we wear many hats: teacher, emotional and physical caregiver, peacemaker, negotiator and role model amongst many others. When mums give birth, what they really need rather than bags of free coupons and samples from various outlets is real, concrete information. We all have the ability as parents to be instinctive, but we could all from time to time do with a helping hand. Britain has the opportunity to provide a first class family resource 'one-stop-shop' if they would simply provide a website providing information, hints, tips and resources for new and existing families within Britain. A website would provide 24 hour access to those who wish to know more about their own situations and provide all families, especially young or vulnerable parents with ongoing knowledge, which would help to develop confidence and existing instincts'.
